COCONUT CABANAS is located on a beautiful 5 acre hilltop setting just off the main Volcano Hwy. in the beautiful Mountain View ranch land estates area; a 15 minute drive from the Hilo Airport and 20 minutes from world renowned Hawai'i Volcano National Park. Vacation Rentals in the Mountain View area are very affordable and centrally located between Pahoa, Hilo and the Kau districts. Enjoy your private cottage with magnificent Ocean and Mauna Kea views. Stroll through the fruit orchards where we grow a variety of oranges, lemons, pineapples, peaches, apples, plums, figs, avocados, and different spice trees. We also grow coffee and tea trees.  The evenings are cool, dipping into the upper 50’s on occasion, and makes for great sleeping at night.  A short 5 minute drive to the little town of Keaau, will bring you to a large public open market where you can buy fresh bananas, papayas, and many other exotic locally grown fruits sold by native farmers, and there are also a number of dining restaurants and a supermarket in this area.
 

Take a leisurely walk down to the front pasture to visit our miniature goats that are very friendly and then take a wander down the acreage and visit our on site henhouse.  Our chickens have their own pasture where they can graze free range style and produce the best eggs you will ever eat for your breakfast!  Breakfast is provided daily which includes fresh eggs from the hen house, local sausage, fish or bacon, scrumptious Punaluu bread along with fresh bananas and papayas. Also available are a variety of fresh fruits and nuts, including pineapple from our own little pineapple field when in season, and of course coffee grown right here on site. If our beans are not available.

Coconut Cabanas was built in 2006 and consists of a separate 800 square foot cabana connected by a beautiful long covered walkway which joints into a large open-air patio. The large covered lanai area has a wood-burning fireplace, a large BBQ grill and a beautiful dining table where you can enjoy your breakfast and morning coffee or relax in the evening, if you so desire too.

  There is also a covered lanai fronting the guest cabana where you can also choose to enjoy the view of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa while having a quite morning meal or evening dinner.  The view from your cabana is a 25 acre pasture with rolling green hills, along with a snow capped Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa during the winter months.
