The Mauna Kea Cabana which is currently available is a beautiful 800 square foot suite. Beautiful bamboo floors grace the interior. Large windows and sliding glass doors give a light and airy feeling, bringing the outdoors in. The sleeping area consists of two full beds with beautiful linens and Hawaiian quilts which were featured in the Fine Living Magazine. The huge bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub, a separate shower and a large two sink vanity. Beautiful lighting, teak floor mats, and soft towels complete this great bathroom. There is also a comfortable sitting area where you could enjoy your breakfast in the privacy of your suite and a kitchen complete with coffee and tea maker, microwave and a refrigerator. The kitchen cabinets are all custom made locally and filled with everything to make your stay comfortable. We offer amenities such as a large flat screen HD TV, with DVR to record and play back with surround sound, computer access and laptop hookup. Local maps are provided to our guests and there is an assortment of beautiful books about Hawaii that one may take a look at. | |

Coconut Cabanas is conveniently located in the Mountain View area, only 20 minutes away from the world famous Volcano National Park with its amazing view of large and small volcanic craters. Approximately 45 minutes from your B&B is the beautiful Punaluu black sand beach where large sea turtles sunning themselves on the black sand beaches. This is a great spot to relax on the beach under a coconut tree or take in some sun. There is also a large golf course located here. If you continue on northwest you will see beautiful south-point which is the southern most point in the USA. You then continue up the coast highway through incredible black lava fields and then onto lush tropical vistas. You will travel through the Kona coffee growing region plus countless macadamia nut orchards. There are coffee and nut factories along the way where you may sample these local items and also pick up a few souvenirs. Next you will come to the small but quickly growing town of Kailua-Kona. Along the front street there is a variety of eateries and shops. Just north of Kona you could swim at some of the white sand beaches that are located by the large hotels. From here you can meander up the coast where the highway will lead you to the Kohala area and also the town of Waimea located in the middle of the huge Parker Ranch Then make your way down the east coast where you could visit Waipio Valley with its breathtaking views of large valleys, waterfalls and huge cliffs. Eventually you will arrive in the historic town of Hilo and another 20 minutes later you will be back at your beautiful B&B, ready to soak in your hot Jacuzzi tub.

Beautiful Hawaiian views abound! Coconut Cabanas sits on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean, rolling green lush pastures and where horses, cows, sheep, goats, and wild pigs bask in the beautiful Hawaiian sunshine. The property is covered with beautiful majestic palm tress, evergreens, and dozens of different fruit trees are everywhere! Beautiful birds are abundant, including the stunning Hawaiian Honey Creepers and the Hawaiian Nene Goose.
